August Theme "Back to School"
This months theme is Back to School. What does that in tell... Organization, Preparation, New Schedules and Communication as a family. I would like to share with you some of the ways that has helped our family with those areas. The first Organization! and never ending. In the pictures below you will see a few of my ideas to help keep your family organized through the school year. I would love to know what you think and if you have any ideas of your own. Thanks for stopping by! Be creative, Find joy and keep it simple- as my mom tends to remind me.

I have a lack of wall space in my home and I was tired of seeing papers all over my counter so I came up with this solution. I purchased these magnets at Office Max and then added these scrapbook embellishments. Each of my kids has one and they now know where to put school papers..on the fridge. I also have one for me and my kids also put papers that need a signature and if I am lucky I often get a love note!.

This is a way to keep all the extra school stuff and mail organized until I can get to it and put it in its right home (as you can tell it needs to be done). I found this at a antique store I antiqued it and then stenciled the names on the front. I placed this right by my back door convenient foot traffic!

At the beginning of each school year I make a school folder for each of my kids to hold all the important times, dates and any other papers that I might need throughout the year. I have placed these folders in the kitchen right beside my phone for easy access and because this is where I spent a lot of my time. Also you may notice the Journals..yes I often like to write down special memories with my kids and hopefully someday my children will appreciate my observations and thoughts.

This calender has saved my life! It is a month by month for the entire year which is nice because I used to have a white board and it was only for one month at a time most of the time the kids would find the eraser and there goes my mind! I love that it has space for each person in your family that way I can have a quick glance for each child for the whole year. It also has a magnet attacked at the top...I know what your thinking one more thing on my fridge, messy but I think that mental health wins over design elements. I purchased this at Office Depot.
