Thanks to Martha Stewart for the best 4th of July ideas! This is the center piece that I would like to use this year and I am glad that it is kid friendly because I am going to put my kids to work.
This is another clever way to use your napkins and I love the different textures and shapes. I have a large amount of flag fabric and I think that I have found the right use for it...Napkins.
I will be using this idea to make my invitations and also camp song books and notes for the Survivor game. Love it!Monday, June 29, 2009
Traditonal 4th of July Decorations
I love this clever and easy table decorations with the beautiful colors of red, white and blue. Over the past years I have collected American Flags and every 4th of July I put them in a variety of different containers and place them around my house and my family and I love it.
This is were I first got the idea from this Martha Stewart picture. I take a white water picture and put a foam base down in the bottom and then arrange layers of flags. This is very cost effect and simple I use it every year.

Baby Shower Decorations
My decorative partner had old baby blessing gowns that she has been collecting in hopes of having a girl someday(I hope she does)and we used them in a collage on the wall with antique hangers and tied pink bows on them and then added this sign on the top and it made a beautiful focal point. We also tied three gowns on the window with large pink bows this really made the ladies ooh and awe!
I hung this saying from a light fixture above the food table to add height and the colors were warm and sweet just the way a baby shower should be.
The tradition of a baby cake was the vocal point of the table. It was a three layered cake and I added soft pink hydrangeas with a silk green bow to add color on the table. The cake was a great way to tie in our cottage baby theme and added rich textures.
To add a richness and sparkle to the diaper cake I placed it on a vintage silver cake stand and then added below a wreath of pinks and greens to help finish the look. The table look great! Thanks to my friend who took these amazing pictures! check out her website lookieloophotography she is creative and talented! I am blessed to see her work and I am glad that she is doing so well.

June=end of school craziness!
I can barely keep up with my kids let alone my housework, blogging, FB, and of course my projects. My June project is coming please be patient as you busy woman know life can all of the sudden dump a lot of extra things our way.
Here is a peek at what I was doing this weekend with my daughter. This took all weekend to help finish my daughters miniature float for her science project. We went through a lot of glue and of course made a big mess! but we had a lot of fun creating and building memories. As you can tell I love projects and so do my kids! Yeah!

I love this idea on keeping books organized and safe...I keep my books in a big basket and it takes a tole on the book covers but it works for now.
Pottery Barn does things right! I love these toy pails that attach to the wall however these are a bit of an investment and so I am going to take this idea and put a twist on it to make it more expense friendly...pictures are coming!...playroom in progress!
This is a great way to keep a toy room organized and I love that you can easily change it when needed and helps out the kids when it's clean up time. I love ideas that are inexpensive! these labels can be purchases at your local craft center. This picture is very colorful why does it not look crazy... because of the use of tones of color and the use of shape in the use of the baskets, books and wall hangings. I think that my girls would love this color pallet I looks like its full of fun!

These three pictures are all from of course my favorite Decorator Martha Stewart. I love that her style is simple, classic and is always a dream to look at with no added frills. I enjoy this picture and the creative way to display children's art work and how cost effective.Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Playroom Ideas
This playroom is a great way to utilize a hallway or an end of a room to convert into a child's space whether that be for reading, drawing or imagination. One of the first questions to answer in creating a space for children is to decide what the space will be used for and then how to incorporate it into a new space or already established space and then be creative and do a little homework, that always works!.This picture has used it space very creatively by using a built in storage shelf and curtains to help conceal the toys when not in use. I also love the splash of color I think this is a wonderful way to make the room pop and adds a feeling of youthfulness (this is why some of you like the color red).
This picture has given me inspiration for the theme of my playroom. A couple of years ago I had large animals painted for a city float that I designed and I have been hanging on to these life size animal drawings and now they will be put to good use. Pictures will be coming!
I love this look it is very kid friendly and has a very whimsical feel and gives kids plenty of room for imagination. I will be taking inspiration from this picture to make curtains for the stage that I will be creating with all girls this is a must and I will also be using the floor design as well.
